Position Summary : The Assistant Athletic Coach is responsible for the training and development, both athletically and personally, of athletes in their particular discipline.

  • Assists in the planning of practices and coaching of games.
  • Attends all practices and games.
  • Accompanies and / or drives the athletic team on a school vehicle to and from athletic events.
  • In the absence of the head coach, reports all injuries and follows the procedure for reporting injuries.
  • Teaches the philosophy, fundamentals, techniques and style of play as prescribed.
  • Performs proper athletic training, first aid, and safety as required.
  • Communicates as necessary with athletes and their families via the dedicated school portal.
  • Practices acceptable personal conduct before, during and after games and practices.
  • Remains familiar with, and adheres to, rules and regulations of the sport coached based on the appropriate school and sport affiliations.
  • Responsible for supporting the total athletic program.
  • Fills in for head coach in their absence.
  • Complies with all other duties as requested by the Athletic Director and / or head coach
  • Willingness and ability to transport team(s) in an ISDenver non-CDL vehicle as needed.

  • English proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Level B2 required, C1+ preferred (based on Common European Framework of References for Languages) or equivalent certification such as TOEFL or IETLS.

  • Required Qualifications and Trainings

  • Strong moral character
  • Prior successful leadership / coaching experience preferred
  • Robust knowledge of the rules, strategy and regulations of the sport to be coached
  • CPR / AED / 1st Aid certified (or willingness to get)
  • Concussion Training (or willingness to get)
  • Mandatory Reporter Training (or willingness to get)
  • Standard Precautions Training (or willingness to get)
  • Clean driving record / copy of MVR, ISDenver vehicle training certification (or willingness to get) for non-CDL vehicles
  • A verified Colorado Coaching License may be able to replace certain training listed above (not including the driving component).

    Physical Demands :

  • Regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally be required to bend, stoop or kneel.
  • This position requires a lot of multi-tasking and event management. It is imperative that the employee can walk easily back and forth across the 6.4 acre campus while preparing for, setting up, managing and cleaning up events.
  • Location and Schedule : This is a seasonal sport position. Practices are held twice weekly during the season along with matches. Practices and matches are generally held after the school day. Salaries are fixed pending number of weeks in a season and contact time.

    Middle School (Assistant Coach / Head Coach) :

  • Fall - $1120 / $2240 (9 weeks, 2 practices or games per week)
  • Winter - $1350 / $2700 (12 weeks, 2 practices or games per week)
  • Spring - $1125 / $2250 (10 weeks, 2 practices or games per week)
  • High School (Assistant Coach / Head Coach) :

  • Fall - $3037.50 / $6075 (9 weeks, 5 practices or games per week)
  • Winter - $4050 / $8100 (12 weeks, 5 practices or games per week)
  • Spring - $3375 / $6750 (10 weeks, 5 practices or games per week)
