Position Summary & Key Responsibilities
As a Consultant youll support critical emergency management projects that help better prepare communities to respond to mitigate and recover from disasters. To be successful in this role youll need to excel in four key areas :
- Project Support : Support emergency management planning training exercises and outreach based on contractual requirements while maintaining a healthy timeline budget and team environment
- Client Relationship Management : Develop relationships with clients to contribute to solutioning foster a collaborative team culture and keep an eye out for opportunities to add value
- Subject-Matter Knowledge : Build capabilities in emergency management to enhance service quality and create compelling solutions for clients
- Leadership and Culture : Contribute to a collaborative team culture by asking questions taking ownership of tasks and ensuring 360-degree feedback that is timely candid and supportive

Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent experienceInternship or professional experience in emergency managementDemonstrated attention to detail and timeline managementExcellent communication writing and facilitation skillsProficiency in MS 365 suiteReside in AL CA CO DC FL GA IL MD MI MO NC NJ NM NY OH PA TN TXAbility to travel approximately 20%Ability to pass a Federal public trust background check and / or security clearance investigationNice-To-Have Qualifications
Emergency management planning experience to include EOPs HMPs evacuation planning recovery planning or after-action reviewsExperience with community and stakeholder outreachProficiency analyzing and presenting data (e.g. GIS dashboards)Proficiency in graphic designReside in the National Capital RegionMasters degree in public administration business administration or a related fieldProject Management Professional (PMP) certificationWhat We Offer
