Registered Nurse - Lactation Consultant, PRN

Position Details : Lactation Consultant – RN (LDRP) Location : Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63128 Status : PRN (As Needed) Overview Responsible for assessment, problem identification and problem-solving for patient / staff education relating to breastfeeding. Develops, implements and evaluates the lactation education program. Emphasis with focus on antepartum, postpartum, nurseries and specifically related outpatient clientele. Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree required, along with specialized training or completion of a relevant internship. Licensure : Must hold a current RN license or RN Temporary Permit in the State of Missouri. Experience : Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience required. Certifications : Lactation education certification is required. Preferred Qualifications Education : Advanced degree or additional relevant coursework preferred. Licensure : Additional or multi-state licensure preferred. Experience : Prior experience in lactation support or related specialty preferred. Certifications : Additional certifications in maternal-child health or lactation consulting preferred. Other : Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Physical Requirements : Frequent standing and walking throughout shift Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting / turning with assistance Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs Why Mercy?
