GIS Application Analyst
Work Location : S Fort Harrison Ave S, Clearwater, FL and Remote
Schedule : Mostly remote work, with Emergency Work
The Pinellas County Business Technology Services Department is looking for a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Application Analyst to designing, implementing, and maintaining GIS solutions and applications to support organizational needs related to spatial data management, analysis, and visualization. This position is mainly remote (with a Florida residency requirement) some onsite work performed as needed.
Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Desktop ArcGIS Pro is required. The incumbent will be required to collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, configure GIS software, develop custom applications, and provide technical support for GIS users. The role involves leveraging GIS technologies to solve spatial problems, improve decision making processes, and enhance operational efficiency. Work can require creative and original thinking and is performed under the general direction of management with some latitude for individual and team initiative, judgment, and discretion.
What Would You Do?
Develop and deploy applications using the Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Desktop (ArcGIS Pro), and other related software platforms.
Collaborate with business partners and other government agencies to implement GIS solutions including applications, reporting, and data processing.
Create technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials for GIS applications and solutions.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to GIS users.
Support data conversion, transformation, and geoprocessing tasks to prepare spatial data for analysis and visualization.
Assist with the development for project plans / schedules, and outlines requirements, tasks, work assignments, resources and critical milestones.
Makes and delivers informal and formal presentations, both verbally and in writing, to peers, managers, and customers at various levels of the organization using clear, concise and effective communication.
Train end-users on GIS software functionality, best practices, and data management procedures.
What Do You Have To Have?
Education and Experience :
Six years of technical and professional experience in information technology in the assigned subject matter tasks that includes customer service and one year of team leadership or supervision in the assigned subject matter tasks; or an Associate’s degree in information technology, computer science, computer technology, or related field and four years of experience as described above; or a Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, computer technology, or related field and two years of experience as described above; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and / or experience.
Florida Driver’s License preferred
Acquire and maintain CJIS Certification.
Proficiency with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro);
A desirable candidate may possess certifications in one or more specific IT functions such as GISP, ITIL, PMP, Esri Certified.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Arcade, Python, or any program languages.
While most work is performed remotely, some on-premises compulsory work periods are required in special, emergency, and / or disaster situations.
