Utility Monitoring Services Supervisor

Position Summary

The Supervisor oversees all stationary engineers assigned to the 24 / 7 monitoring and inspection program. This role ensures compliance with VHA Directive 1028 , federal safety regulations, contract requirements, and internal QA / QC standards. The Supervisor is responsible for scheduling, training, technical oversight, and quality assurance of all inspection logs, equipment readings, and emergency response actions. The Supervisor acts as the primary liaison with the VA COR, Engineering Service, and Safety personnel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and oversight of all stationary engineers supporting the contract.
• Validate and review all two-hour inspection logs, equipment readings, and deficiency reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate directly with VA Engineering Service regarding system issues, emergency responses, and outage coordination.
• Manage work schedules, shift rotations, leave coverage, and on-call assignments to maintain uninterrupted 24 / 7 staffing.
• Conduct weekly and monthly quality assurance audits of logs, water chemistry reports, control system readings, and maintenance tasks.
• Lead emergency response activities and provide technical guidance during system failures.
• Approve and oversee interim repairs and ensure proper escalation of major deficiencies.
