Maintenance Supervisor
The Maintenance Supervisor at Stark State College oversees the daily operations of the College's maintenance and daytime custodial teams within the Physical Plant Department. This position plays a key leadership role in maintaining the College's facilities and energy systems, serving as the primary operational liaison between the College community and the department. The Supervisor also manages the College's energy management and building automation systems and is on call 24 / 7 to respond to emergencies involving the HVAC and lighting control systems. In the Director's absence, this position provides departmental oversight and support in administrative and management functions.
Salary : $57,501 - $74,752, commensurate with experience. Typical hours are Monday through Friday 8 : 00 a.m. until 4 : 30 p.m. on our Main Campus in North Canton. Typical responsibilities include : lead, coach, and mentor the maintenance and day custodial team; conduct quarterly one-on-one performance evaluations; coordinate training and skill development; schedule and assign work; perform random work order inspections; oversee the College's Building Automation System (BAS) and Energy Management System; monitor, troubleshoot, and coordinate maintenance and repair of all building systems; ensure accurate and timely documentation of maintenance activities; track departmental expenditures; manage inventory and procurement; participate in departmental planning activities; support continuous improvement initiatives; assist the Director with evaluating department policies; respond to emergency call-ins; and coordinate appropriate responses to operational issues.
To be considered you'll need : valid Ohio driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check; associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, HVAC Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, or a closely related field; at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, or a skilled trade (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical), including one (1) year in a supervisory or lead role. In lieu of a degree : seven (7) or more years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, or a related trade (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing), including two (2) years in a supervisory or lead role.
