Audit Intern

Horizon BCBNJ seeks a self-directed Audit Intern with a passion for analytics, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. This position will execute work programs for control testing. Responsible for documenting work, and interviewing management to obtain an understanding of the processes being audited. This position will work under the direction of a senior auditor to identify and document control issues.

Responsibilities :

Entry Level

Executes audit testing

Documents audit testing results in accordance with audit policies and procedures.

Identifies and documents control issues

Interviews and gathers information from management regarding the process being audited

Documents procedures, workflows, walkthroughs, etc.

Requirements :

• Requires High School Diploma
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Audit, Finance, Risk Management or related field.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and OneNote.
• Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and strong creative problem-solving skills, along with the ability to identify continual improvement opportunities
• Must be detail oriented with strong follow-up skills
• Proven time management skills are necessary. Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks and respond with a sense of urgency as required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with internal and external customers.
• Ability to represent the team in cross-functional meetings and workgroup sessions to identify improvement opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to explain complex information

Location : 3 Penn Plaza Newark NJ - Hybrid Work Schedule

Schedule : 8am-5pm (9 hour work day with lunch)

Duration : 11 week Summer Internship Program (June 1, 2026 - August 13, 2026)
