Lead Therapist
The Lead therapist for Clinical Development role is to assist the Rehabilitation Director by mentor-ship of fellow therapists, clinical excellence, direct or indirect patient care, staffing services and management of other departmental responsibilities. To foster and enhance the development of therapy staff in professional growth and development of skills in leadership and management.
Delivering First-Class patient care working alongside team members from nursing, medical, social services, case management, MDS, housekeeping, concierge, building services and administration to deliver first-class patient care. In this role, you will orchestrate and direct the therapy staff in best clinical practices by developing goals, plans, therapies and objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Excels in inter / intra departmental communication, organization, and plan development; represents a key figure within the Rehabilitation Center.
- Develops and maintains strategic systems which build and enhance the Center’s reputation for being the unparalleled provider of rehab to the elderly and demonstrate the center’s approach to interdisciplinary care.
- Consistently develops and maintains operational, clinical, and financial reporting.
- Monitors financial performance of department and effectively seeks methods to improve this performance while ensuring that the center’s standards are consistently observed.
Contributes effectively to the census development / marketing efforts in coordination with the center.
Contributes to professional development of self and center’s rehabilitation / therapy staff.Aids in building and maintaining the center’s reputation as the unparalleled rehab provider of the elderly by contribution as a professional member of the staff.Compliance with government regulatory safety practices.Provides patient care as appropriate and necessary, following the position description for the applicable clinical discipline in which licences or certification is held.Maintain caseload of 40% productivity (may vary pending the needs of the department)QUALIFICATIONS :

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge of rehab community.Demonstrated leadership and management skills.Skills applicable to clinical discipline.Ability to communicate effectively and positively with all Rehabilitation staff members and facility staff.Education and Experience :
Graduation from an accredited program for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology preferred (PTA or OTA will be considered).Bachelor’s Degree required.Must possess and maintain a current license in the state of practice as requiredOther education and experience may be considered.Physical Requirements for Direct Patient Care :
If providing patient care, and appropriate based on therapy license, must be able to lift and transfer patients to and from all surfaces a minimum of 10 times per day.If providing patient care, and appropriate based on therapy license, must be able to lift approximately 50-70 pounds a minimum of 10 times per day.Current CPR Certification, if required.For Support Activities :
