Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Bridgeton, Missouri (63044) – St. Louis area

Healthcare Setting : Medical / Surgical (Med / Surg) Unit

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night shifts, 12 hours each (3x12 per week)

Hours per Week : 36

Openings : 2 Med / Surg RN positions

Start Date : November 17, 2025

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1760 - $1890

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Missouri or compact state

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – required before first shift

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification – required before first shift

Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in a Med / Surg nursing job (2 years preferred)

Strong communication and teamwork skills in a healthcare setting

Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission

Develop and implement individualized care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process : assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record

Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission

Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team to ensure safety and continuity of care

Supervise and delegate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees

Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies and safety procedures

Participate in team building activities and contribute to a positive healthcare work environment

Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation

Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study
