Travel Nurse RN - Med / Surg / Telemetry - $1,894 per week in Lufkin, TX

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : Med / Tele Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12H Days Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Required Certifications : BLS Must-Have : Great communication and time management skills. Description : The unit has 24 beds. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 6 : 1. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, chronic kidney disease, and medical / surgical telemetry. Registered Nurses must be able to read telemetry strips. Telemetry monitor technicians are available to monitor patients. Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators are present on the unit. Patient Care Technicians are available with a ratio of 12 : 1. The unit utilizes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow equipment. Scheduling is managed by the unit manager and block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Every other weekend is required, and holiday coverage is mandatory. Registered Nurses will float to all medical / surgical units as needed. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs. Unit-specific orientation is provided, covering all medical / surgical telemetry protocols. Cancellations are limited to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
