Optical Technician III – Precision Optics Location :

  • Lebanon, NH Industry : Ultra-Precision Optics Manufacturing Status : Full-time Citizenship Requirement : U.S.
  • Persons only (ITAR-controlled facility) Take the lead on world-class optics with a team that sets the bar for precision.
  • Bond Optics is looking for a highly skilled Optical Technician III to drive execution on complex optical fabrication tasks.
  • This senior-level position is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on, high-accountability environment and wants to work on optics used in defense, space, and cutting-edge semiconductor systems.
  • What You’ll Do Lead setup and operation of advanced optical fabrication equipment including CNC and interferometric tools.
  • Own complex polishing and testing processes with minimal supervision.
  • Adjust and troubleshoot fabrication processes to meet tight surface accuracy and cosmetic specs.
  • Mentor junior technicians and provide hands-on training and technical guidance.
  • Collaborate on process development and tooling design for challenging geometries.
  • Work with manufacturing leadership to prioritize and schedule work effectively.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
  • What You Bring Expertise in optical fabrication, particularly polishing and metrology.
  • Ability to work independently on high-precision tasks with tight tolerances.
  • Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership mindset and team-first attitude.
  • Comfort reading and interpreting testing data, drawings, and specifications.
  • Preferred Background 5+ years of experience in precision optics manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with interferometry and optical metrology tools.
  • Technical training or relevant degree preferred.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements Ability to lift and handle components weighing 15–50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for fine adjustments and inspection tasks.
  • Clear or corrected vision for detailed metrology and inspection work.
