Job Summary and Qualifications

REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS

Current RN licensure in Texas or compact state.

Current BCLS certification

Current NRP

Current STABLE

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Other levels of nursing degrees acceptable with demonstrated years of experience.

Critical thinking ability

Coping skills to effectively deal with crisis and emergency situations

Clear and concise communication

Encouraging team-building efforts

PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Minimum of one (2) year of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of his / her unit (experience may be substituted for an area of similar patient types).

Leadership and management experience is highly desirable.

RNC – NIC preferred

Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transfer physician’s orders.

Knowledge of body substance isolation.

Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partner’s needs.

Bilingual in English / Spanish preferred
