Employee Health Benefits Role

Multi-State Account Manager, (100-1000 lives)

Location : Northern California (San Francisco Bay Area (including East Bay, South Bay and Peninsula)

Job Type : Direct / Remote

Hours : Full Time

Required Years of Experience : Four (4) years of experience in sales, customer service, account management, health plan administration, or insurance ; with a minimum Three (3) years of experience in group health care benefits sales, account management , and / or implementation

Required Education : Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Licensing : Appropriately licensed and / or certified in states where applicable (within 3 months of hire)

Travel : 20-25%

  • The Role

    In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to create and implement both standard and innovative sales and retention strategies for our multi-state clients. You’ll be the “single point of contact” in delivering a positive experience for clients with multiple locations, offering your expertise with minimal guidance. As a team player, you'll collaborate across departments to ensure we meet client needs and effectively support new tools and capabilities. You’ll take ownership of driving sales and renewals, all while striving to meet goals focused on client satisfaction and retention.     Responsibilities

  • Customer Relationship Management : Maintain and build strategic relationships with customers, brokers, consultants, and channels, ensuring excellent customer experiences and advanced product knowledge
  • Drive Sales & Retention : Implement strategies to meet retention and growth targets, track progress, and maintain an up-to-date CRM platform
  • Sales & Renewals Execution : Collaborate across teams to manage the RFR process for complex accounts, ensuring timely and accurate sales, renewals, and contract negotiations
  • Cross-sell & Upsell : Identify and capitalize on opportunities to increase membership and retention through cross-selling and upselling strategies
  • Foster Learning & Collaboration : Share expertise and resources with coworkers and members, while building relationships with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Adapt to Change : Embrace new responsibilities, adapt to changes, and help others adjust to new tasks and processes. Champion change within the team
  • Support Team Collaboration : Facilitate team cooperation to achieve key business outcomes, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
  • Autonomous Work Execution : Complete work independently, applying subject matter expertise to generate creative solutions and supporting business-specific projects
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Partner with internal and external teams to make business decisions, solve complex problems, and escalate priority issues as needed
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, or related field AND minimum four (4) years of experience in sales, customer service, telemarketing, account management, health plan administration, insurance
  • Three (3) years of experience in group health care benefits sales, account management, and / or implementation, or a directly related field.
  • Appropriately licensed and / or certified in states where applicable within 3 months of hire
  • Applied Data and Trend Analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Presentation Skills, and Trusted Advisor Role
  • Proficiency in SalesForce a plus
