Position Summary :

Performs blood specimen collection, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; may perform CLIA waived laboratory tests. May process anatomic pathology and cytology specimens; assists pathologists and Histo-techs, as needed. Assists Laboratory Assistant Supervisor and leads lab assistant I, II, and III positions to optimize workflow.

Completes prioritization, receipt, registration, and distribution of specimens. May have responsibility for send out / reference lab shipping, tracking, and billing. May perform and result waived testing. May assist with processing of anatomic pathology specimens including preparation of microscopic tissue slides, staining and specimen management.

Position Qualification :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of laboratory experience.
• Associate degree in laboratory or medical related field from an accredited institution preferred.
• Basic laboratory computer / lab information system experience preferred.

Must clear background and drug test required.
