Overview

Marquette General Hospital is seeking an experienced Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join its Operating Room team. This role is ideal for professionals who are detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to supporting safe and effective surgical procedures in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and supplies are sterile and available.
  • Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and supplies.
  • Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict infection control protocols.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Handle specimens properly and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Care for and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Support patient safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to deliver quality care.

    • Qualifications

  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
  • Active Michigan state licensure or eligibility to obtain.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent operating room experience preferred.
  • Must have neurosurgery and orthopedic experience.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
