Salary Range $105,000.00 - $174,000.00
Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is the premier summer academic enrichment and leadership development program of its kind for talented high school students from around the world. Enrolling approximately 2,000 high school students through a highly competitive application process, YYGS participants represent more than 150 countries and all 50+ U.S. states & territories. The program offers nine (9) sessions on Yale's campus in STEM, social science, and cross-disciplinary fields. Senior Yale faculty members lecture in the program while dedicated undergraduate, graduate, and professional school student serve as residential life staff and academic instructors, leading small-group discussions and supervising project work.
Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) is the premier academic enrichment and leadership development program of its kind for African high school students planning to pursue university education and who wish to make a meaningful impact on the continent. Enrolling approximately 350 high school students annually through a highly competitive application process, YYAS participants represent approximately 40 different countries across the African continent. The program offers a comprehensive online course (all live offerings, not recorded), an in-person summer program in Africa, and a robust alumni mentorship program. Senior Yale faculty members lecture in the program while dedicated undergraduate, graduate, and professional school student serve as residential life staff and academic instructors, leading small-group discussions and supervising project work.
The Director serves as the chief operating officer of this dynamic, fast-growing organization dedicated to providing exceptional summer academic programming for promising high school students. Significant Director responsibilities include : articulate a multi-year strategic vision for continued program sustainability, strengthened academic content, and improved residential life experiences; oversee a robust and equitable admissions & enrollment process, with a focus on maintaining a large applicant pool and admissions selectivity while also continually increasing geographic diversity and accessibility; ensure sound financial management, legal compliance and safety practices; promote access and solicit gifts through partnerships and scholarship support; manage a team of at least 12 full-time staff and over 150 summer seasonal staff (between YYGS & YYAS); provide intellectual and administrative leadership during YYGS sessions in New Haven and YYAS sessions overseas; and serve as a key liaison to multiple internal and external stakeholders such as faculty members, senior administrators, heads of college, donors, and other service providers.
Required Skills and Abilities :
Ability to quickly learn and excel in new technology, including online systems and platforms such as Technolutions Slate, Cvent, and Canvas; comfort with managing and analyzing large amounts of information in a fast-paced environment.

Required Education and Experience : Bachelor's Degree in related field. Six years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
