Purpose of Department :
The Simulation & Game Design program at William Peace University enables students to channel their creativity into a fulfilling career by cultivating their ability to analyze, understand and interact with the world around them.
Summary of Position :
Reporting to the Department Chair for Art, Communication and SGD, the Esports Coach is responsible for instructing and coaching student athletes on game strategies and competitive performance principles. The Coach will support club teams and related academic program majors and will partner with Enrollment Management in providing relevant information to prospective students.
Essential duties and responsibilities :
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and two years of experience working in a competitive Esports environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Esports Management, Computer Science, Simulation and Game Design, Interactive Design or Integrated Media. Experience as a competitive player and coach in multi-player online video games with team-based elements and knowledge of Rocket League, Overwatch, or similar games. Esports coaching and teaching experience in a collegiate Esports program.
Hours per week : Part-Time (20 hours)
