Position Summary
As the Senior Merchandiser, you will lead the end-to-end product lifecycle—from initial concept through market release. This role oversees development timelines, drives merchandising and digital strategies, ensures profitability through pricing and margin management, and maintains a consistent and cohesive brand identity. You will act as the central cross-functional liaison, working closely with design, sales, planning, sourcing, and senior leadership to execute seasonal strategies and deliver strong market performance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Profitability
- Execute seasonal line plans and merchandising strategies to build profitable assortments that achieve margin goals.
- Partner with Sales, Planning, Sourcing, and Leadership to develop pricing strategies and margin targets.
- Support national marketing strategies tied to product positioning and seasonal initiatives.
Product Development Management
Manage and maintain seasonal development calendars.Partner cross-functionally (Design, Sales, Sourcing, Marketing) to ensure cohesive product direction and market alignment.Ensure timely completion of all product milestones from concept through final adoption.Digital & Selling Tools
Implement and support digital merchandising strategies using platforms such as 3D visualization tools and NuOrder.Develop compelling selling tools to elevate digital market presentations and sales enablement touchpoints.Leadership & Collaboration
Work closely with Design leadership to monitor assortments and uphold brand consistency.Participate in market appointments to present seasonal strategy, design direction, and product assortments.Select, train, mentor, and evaluate merchandising team members to support career development and workflow efficiency.Financial Oversight
Create and maintain annual budgets for samples and travel.Attend domestic market travel as needed for presentations and shopping / research.Qualifications
Experience : 5–7 years of professional merchandising experience.Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field (or equivalent experience in design / apparel development).Analytical Skills : Strong retail math ability and competitive / best-seller analysis skills.Product Knowledge : Solid understanding of product development and brand management processes.Technical Skills : Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace, particularly advanced Excel / Google Sheets.Personal Attributes
