Job Summary

As a Senior Data Scientist at SmithRx, you will play a pivotal role on a high-impact Data team, leading through technical excellence, mentoring emerging talent, and delivering insights that shape key strategic decisions. You will work with leading-edge technologies, like our proprietary Drug Pathways Engine , to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. You will have the opportunity to influence product, business, and people strategy to reinforce our position in the market.

What you will do

  • Drive Goal-Setting & Decision-Making : Partner with Product, Clinical, CS, and GTM stakeholders to understand domains and define success through data-driven goal-setting. Design metrics that track progress and identify opportunities for product and business improvements using advanced statistical methodologies. Influence decision-making by designing and executing experiments with statistical significance.
  • Architect Data Foundations : Collaborate with Data & ML Engineers to influence the design, development, and maintenance of dimensional data models, ensuring data reliability and accessibility.
  • Elevate Data Quality : Champion world-class data governance, raising the bar for data and code quality across tech teams.
  • Amplify Team Performance : Mentor and develop the team, fostering growth, curiosity, and clarity amidst ambiguity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (mathematics, statistics). Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience influencing product and business decisions through experimentation and advanced analytics. Healthcare and / or pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Advanced technical proficiency with :
  • SQL & dbt for querying, transforming, and validating complex data sets
  • Python and / or R for advanced statistical modeling
  • Collaboration with Data & ML Engineers to architect robust data models and data quality guardrails
  • Establishing and scaling causal learning frameworks and experiments with statistically significant findings
  • Designing and communicating data visualizations to deliver actionable insights
  • Self-starter mentality, proactively driving impact and delivering on commitments.
  • Excellent communication & storytelling , adaptable to business and technical audiences.
  • Proven leadership , able to articulate a compelling vision and align others.
