Job descriptionPosition Summary We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Telephone Triage team specializing in Pediatrics. This RN will provide remote clinical guidance via telephone to pediatric patients and their families, assess symptoms, offer clinical advice, and determine the appropriate level of care. The ideal candidate is skilled in clinical judgment, medication reconciliation, and pediatric assessment, and excels at patient communication. Essential Responsibilities Perform telephone triage for pediatric patients, including symptom assessment and clinical decision-making using established protocolsIdentify urgent / emergent cases and direct patients to the appropriate level of care (ER, urgent care, or in-office visit)Provide education to caregivers regarding symptom management, medications, and general pediatric health concernsDocument all interactions, patient concerns, assessments, and advice provided in the EMR system accurately and promptlyConduct medication reconciliation, assess pain levels, review allergies, and update patient health historyCollaborate with pediatricians and care teams to coordinate care plans and follow-upSchedule in-office appointments as needed based on triage assessmentAssist with maintaining clinical documentation and compliance with nursing best practicesUphold high standards of patient confidentiality and customer service Required Qualifications Current RN license in stateBasic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be current)Minimum 1 year of experience in Pediatric nursingTelephone Triage experience in a clinical or call center settingStrong communication, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skillsExperience documenting in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of Pediatric nursing experiencePediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certificationExperience with pain assessment, medication reconciliation, and pediatric symptom triage protocolsBackground in pediatric clinics, outpatient care, or primary care settingsStrong familiarity with scheduling systems and clinic workflowsBilingual skills are a plus Work Environment Telephone triage from [insert setting : on-site clinic, centralized call center, or remote]Must be able to sit and talk on the phone for extended periodsRequires use of computer and EMR systems throughout the shift
