Quality Ironworks is seeking an Entry Level Estimator to join our team. Working in the Dallas / Fort Worth, TX area.

As Entry Level Estimator, you will learn how to interpret drawings, identify various steel components, review bid specifications and how to create a Bid Takeoff from our experienced estimating staff. Once trained you will be able to provide complete and accurate takeoffs and estimates to ensure that Quality Ironworks and its clients have a clear understanding of the scope of each estimated project.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Estimating Take-offs and Proposals
  • Review bid specifications
  • Respond to Client RFI’s (Request for Information) to clarify specs and scope of work
  • Bid projects
  • Work with sales team to negotiate contracts
  • Provide cost breakouts to accounting
  • Provide required information to administration for creation of :

Schedule of Values

  • Field Draws
  • Create Internal Documents

    • Scope of Work for internal customers

  • Forecast Schedule for initial forecasting
  • Provide scope clarification to QIW project teams
  • Price change orders per Client ASI / RFI’s and requested add’l field work

    • Skills

  • Required

    • Ability to use Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work
  • Interest in learning and understanding the Construction industry
  • Preferred but not required

    • Experience using BlueBeam Revu and / or TEKLA Structures

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Construction experience

    • Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent from 2-year college or university or 1 year experience in steel construction industry
