A well-established and growing organization in the Greater Pittsburgh area is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead a small team and oversee all aspects of vendor payments, internal controls, and process improvement. This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact by driving efficiency and ensuring accuracy across the payables function.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE :
Manage the full cycle accounts payable process, including invoice verification, approval, and payment.
Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring inquiries and payment issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
Review and reconcile AP ledger accounts, prepare monthly reports, and assist with financial statement accuracy.
Develop, implement, and maintain AP policies and procedures that support a strong internal control environment.
Ensure timely month-end close and support audit and reporting requirements.
Identify and execute process improvements to streamline workflow and improve accuracy.
Monitor payment terms to optimize cash flow and take advantage of available discounts.
Oversee vendor master data management to ensure integrity and segregation of duties.
Coordinate with purchasing and other departments to resolve purchase order discrepancies.
Lead, mentor, and develop AP staff, conducting regular team meetings and performance reviews.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong understanding of general accounting principles, U.S. GAAP, and internal control best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level).
Experience with ERP systems and payment automation tools is preferred.
