IPG's Medical Products Group is focused on developing next-generation medical products and disposable instruments based on IPG's state-of-the-art lasers. The Engineering Technician is responsible for assembly and testing of medical instruments and prototypes, including single use.
Duties :
- Assemble, test, inspect, and repair medical instruments, components, assemblies, and prototypes
- Assist in the development and review of manufacturing documentation for new medical instruments, device prototypes including work instructions, test plans, and test procedures
- Read schematics, mechanical drawings, and work instructions to ensure proper assembly and testing of medical instruments and device prototypes
- Perform root cause failure investigations on medical instruments, device products and prototypes
- Record test data and generate test reports
Requirements
Experience Desired :
3+ years of assembly / test experience with medical instruments, devices and prototypesProficient in using microscope and work with miniature opto-mechanical assembliesExperience with high-power optical fiber delivery systemsExperience working with mechanical and electrical assembly equipment such as PCB soldering stations, wire cutters / strippers, screwdrivers, and other small hand toolsExperience working with test equipment such as digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, lab power supplies, etc. is a plusLaser / optical system assembly and alignment experience is a plusProficient in MS Office with a focus on Word and ExcelEducation Required :
High school diploma is requiredAssociates of Science degree in engineering or technical discipline is preferredPersonal Requirements :
Must be proficient in EnglishDetail oriented with close attention to detail and ability to follow throughWorks well in a team environment and as an individual contributorAble to adapt to the changing needs of the Engineering Group
