Patient Service Representative - PMG-AFM (days)

Overview

We are seeking a Patient Service Representative, internally referred to as Patient Access Representative or Patient Registration Clerk, at our PMG – Associates in Family Medicine Group. As a Patient Service Rep, you interview the patient or his / her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits.

Shift Available : Days

Employment Type : Full Time

Hours : 8-hour shifts, 8 : 00am – 4 : 30pm

Location : PMG – Associates in Family Medicine, Kansas City, KS

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to) :

interviews the patient or his / her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits

schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others

verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issues

greets and checks in patients andles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages

coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing

must be able to : (1) operate a computer to accurately input and retrieve data; (2) communicate with the population served, staff, and providers utilizing age specific techniques; (3) maintain proficiency in medical terminology; (4) project a positive and helpful attitude.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have :

high school graduate or GED equivalent

maintain proficiency in medical terminology

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus :

previous medical setting / hospital experience

knowledge of medical terminology

customer service experience
