Schedule Details : Full-time, evening shift with 8 or 10-hour options, Monday to Friday, with on-call responsibilities averaging 5-8 overnight slots and occasional weekend shifts. On-call timing is flexible depending on staffing needs, requiring arrival within 30 minutes.
Key Responsibilities :
Maintain a clean, efficient surgical environment using aseptic techniques.Prepare surgical materials, instruments, and equipment for procedures.Ensure safety and disinfection of the operating room before, during, and after procedures.Assist surgical teams by anticipating needs and providing instruments and supplies.Transport patients and ensure proper positioning, utilizing safe techniques.Conduct regular checks on specialty items to guarantee readiness and sterility.Participate as a Second Assistant during operations as needed.Licensure and Certification :
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required within 6 months of employment unless otherwise determined by leadership.Education :
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is necessary.Experience :
No previous experience required.Required Knowledge and Skills :
Understanding of aseptic techniques and operating room equipment.Strong customer service, interpersonal skills, and basic computer literacy.A commitment to ongoing education and certification maintenance.Physical Requirements :
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and stressful environment.Lift up to 50 lbs., push / pull 30 lbs., and perform patient handling techniques.Comply with safety standards involving exposure to various hazards while using necessary personal protective equipment.Full range of motion including lifting, standing, and performing equipment operations.This job description outlines the primary functions of the role but is not exhaustive.
