Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, providing direct patient care in labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum settings. You will assess and plan individualized care, communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient conditions, and respond promptly to changes in patient status. This role also involves general nursing duties in Mother / Baby departments and occasional support in Acute Care, Outpatient, and Emergency settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients, including support during cesarean sections and family education on infant and self-care.
- Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with current standards and policies.
- Maintain professional interactions with patients, families, colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Monitor fetal heart rate and uterine activity using continuous electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and palpations, providing interventions based on AWHONN and ACOG guidelines.
- Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and composure in high-stress situations.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to obstetrical emergencies.
- Participate in departmental projects and quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through educational programs, literature review, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Be available for on-call duties with the ability to report within 60 minutes.
Education and Experience
Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.Active RN license or eligible compact license.Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate EFM.Completion of STABLE and other mandated classes within 12 months.Preferred : One or more years of recent Labor and Delivery / Newborn Nursery experience.Professional Requirements
