Job descriptionDec 1, 2025 Ongoing Patient Demographics : Adults 98%, Pediatrics 2% Patient Volume / Census : 3 10 patients / day Admissions : Average 5 while on call Rounding : Included Phone Consults : Yes Case Mix : Cardiology, consults, TEEs, cardioversions, stress tests Trauma Level : Level II EMR System : Epic and Cerner Powerchart Specialty Backup Available : CT Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, EP, Trauma / ACS, Ortho, Neurosurgery Support Staff Available : APP coverage typically 8a 12p, PA-C assistance in AM Reason for Coverage : Vacancy Hospital Privileges Required : Yes (Full and Temporary Privileges available) Temporary Privileges Available : Yes Credentialing Timeline : 90 days Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance : Covered (Airfare, lodging, parking, mileage, rental car, ground transportation) Lodging Cap : $175 / night at non-preferred hotels (no incidentals permitted) Airfare : Economy seating, no upgrades, 1 checked bag Rental Car : Mid-size car (Apr Nov, $75 / day cap) Mid-size 4WD SUV (Dec Mar, $100 / day cap) Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs) Cardioversions Licenses : Active Pennsylvania license or IMLC in hand / applied Board : Board Certified in Cardiology DEA : Active DEA Certification required Certifications : ACLS, BLS Experience : Minimum 1 year in specialty Other Qualifications : Proficiency with Epic and Cerner EMRs Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiology care Cover weekday clinic, weeknight call, and / or 24-hour weekend call Conduct inpatient rounding, consults, TEEs, cardioversions, and image readings Proctor stress tests occasionally Collaborate with APPs and PA-Cs for patient management Respond to calls, with most handled via phone triage; rare in-person stat TEE for dissection
