Manager Test Engineering (Finance)

Primary Function of Position
The New Product Verification team assures safe, reliable, and effective products that exceed patient, surgeon, and hospital expectations. As Manager, Test Engineering, you will lead a team of test engineers and engineering technicians, contributing to product development deliverables, talent development, and process improvement within New Product Verification.
Essential Job Duties
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of test engineers and engineering technicians with applied science backgrounds.
- Train, mentor, and motivate team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high engagement.
- Establish team objectives, metrics, and individual work goals aligned with product development schedules and process improvement milestones.
- Prioritize and negotiate resource tradeoffs with project managers, engineering leaders, and laboratory resources.
- Influence cross‑functional project teams in the design, development, verification, and validation of new products with complex functionality.
- Guide the team in translating complex product requirements to testable acceptance criteria and develop harmonized test methods and on‑test method validation strategy.
- Drive operational efficiencies by identifying and developing processes, test methods, and fixture designs.
- Provide vision for the test engineering team and champion best practices for verification.
Qualifications
BS in Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, or similar degree (MS preferred).6+ years of experience in an engineering organization, preferably in medical device or pharmaceutical industry.Minimum 2+ years as a people manager with proven ability to work well in a team environment.Medical Device Verification / Validation experience, knowledge of ISO requirements, GMP guidelines, and FDA regulations.Experience with mechanical engineering calculations, dimensional analysis, and use of force gauges, calipers, Instron, oscilloscopes, SolidWorks, MATLAB, Python, and Arduino (highly preferred).Strong people management skills and ability to deliver results while supporting career development goals of team members.Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple fast‑paced projects simultaneously.Working Conditions
Desk‑bound work with frequent use of a computer and laboratory environment.Exposure to animal blood, tissue, detergents, and other chemicals used for reprocessing medical devices.Hands‑on testing with robotic systems, mechanical test fixtures, microscopes, electrical test fixtures, and related equipment.Benefits
