Responsibilities

Performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods and receiving incoming shipments. May direct and coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or being received. Verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records. Verifying that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against the DD Form 1348 documents. Ensure that shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles. Prepare and keep records of goods shipped, e.g., DD Form 1348, bill of lading. Checks for damaged goods. Operates a variety of equipment such as forklift, cherry picker or stand-up lift. Ensures that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. 50 lbs. assisted.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as protective mask, safety vest, steel or composite shoes / boots, safety gloves, hard hat and eyewear in certain areas.
• Must be able to walk on uneven ground and within work various sites and withstand prolonged periods of standing for 6-8 hours a day in performance of duties.
• Work requires continuous walking, standing and sitting.
