ABOUT THIS POSITION

UX Designers at Waystar are responsible for ensuring that the software we create is easy to use, easy to learn, and provides maximum efficiency for the user.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with Product Managers to transform business goals into actionable UX / UI requirements in line with a user-centered design philosophy.
  • Collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to vet and refine how UX / UI requirements are implemented .
  • Using UX / UI requirements to define process flows and create wireframes .
  • Creating high-fidelity prototypes for testing and communication of interactions.
  • Owning the holistic experience of products within your assigned area.
  • Working with Product Managers to develop project plans with timelines.
  • Maintaining subject matter expertise within your product area.
  • Developing relationships to generate site visits and feedback opportunities.
  • Contributing to processes and tools for ongoing UX responsibilities.
  • Leading user research activities like site visits, interviews, and surveys.
  • Improving internal relationships to meet UX needs organization-wide.
  • Using behavioral metrics to identify improvement opportunities .
  • Providing UX expertise across the business.
  • Offering design and process guidance to other departments.
  • Mentoring less experienced UX Designers.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Required Skills

  • Motivation to solve complex problems with elegant design solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience designing business software UX.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to foster relationships within cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Portfolio demonstrating design capabilities and results.
  • Heuristic usability analysis skills.
  • Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS).
  • Strong requirements gathering and business analysis skills.
  • Deep understanding of web information architecture and design best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and iteratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
