Portfolios are custom-built using a blend of traditional money managers (long-only stocks and bonds) and alternative strategies (e.g. long / short equity and credit, event-driven, structured credit, private equity, private credit, real estate).

Job Description

ICG is looking for a Research Associate to be part of a small, collaborative team. The job is full-time, in ICG’s offices in Los Angeles, CA.

Specific responsibilities will include :

• Responsiveness, excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to function well as part of a small team.
• Working with the investment team to source, diligence and underwrite prospective investments across asset classes. This will include, but not be limited to, industry / strategy research, fund evaluation, financial modeling, meetings with managers, risk analysis and formulation of investment theses.
• Monitoring existing positions, themes and exposures in the portfolio and continuously challenging the validity of the investment thesis.
• Leading investment manager meetings.
• Mentoring Research Analysts.
• Analyzing performance, expense, attribution and other data.
• Assisting in monitoring and producing reports on the capital markets and investment strategies.
• Preparing memos on investment opportunities to be shared with clients.
• Leading and contributing to special projects related to various markets, investment strategies, sectors, and geographies.
