Job Function : \n

To produce machined parts that conform to specifications by setting \nup and running CNC machines with the ability to make basic edits to CNC \nprograms.

\n

This a non-exempt (hourly) position.

\n

Will use the following machines : STAR SR-10J, STAR SR-20J, STAR SR-20J II

\n

Will use the following controllers : FANUC 18i, FANUC 31i, FANUC 32i

\n

Duties (

• INDICATES A SKILL ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB FUNCTION) :

\n

1. All team members will show the ability to follow written and \nverbal instructions, maintain appropriate communication with \ncolleagues / mentors, and work cooperatively to meet production goals.

\n

2. Maintains safe operation by adhering to safety procedures, including start up and shut down of the machines assigned

\n

3. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance \nrequirements, follows manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshoots \nmalfunctions

\n

4. Runs multiple CNC machines, as assigned

\n

5. Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

\n

6. Is able to perform offsets and change tooling while a job is running

\n

7. Has knowledge of standard inspection equipment

\n

8. Operates machine tools to include CNC and manual lathes; CNC and manual milling machines; and grinders

\n

9. Participates in training of less experienced machine operators.

\n

10. Positions and secures work pieces to holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers or fixtures

\n

11. Completes full set up of equipment, working from set up instructions

\n

12. Knowledge of setting collets, guide bushings, and cutting tools as needed

\n

13. Maintains a well ordered work station, performs routine chip \nremoval, cleaning down of equipment and mopping of floor in general work\n station area.

\n

14. Maintains tools, gages, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner

\n

15. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs

\n

16. Maintains continuity among staff by documenting and communicating\n actions, reports irregularities to other appropriate staff, with \nattention to continuous improvement.

\n

17. Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to ISO quality, ITAR and safety regulations

\n

18. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills / Qualifications :

Education / Training :

\n

High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferably from an accredited trade school

\n

Experience : \n

4+ years of prior experience operating, setting up, and editing programs for CNC lathes & CNC Swiss lathes.

\n

Physical Demands : \n

Ability to stand for long periods, push / pull / lift up to 50 lbs, and grasp small parts.
