Astria Health is seeking a Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Care Unit to join our team! This role is located at our Astria Sunnyside Hospital.

Days / eight-hour shifts. Required to share 24 / 7 PACU call.

What you get to do every day!

This position is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to manage and coordinate the interdisciplinary care of patients of all ages, children, adult and geriatric. The RN provides individualized care to the patient, family and caregivers and is competent and knowledgeable to provide care to the patient population served. You will :

• Preparation of surgical patients, which includes pre-surgical screening calls and / or on-visits prior to their scheduled surgery.
• Day of surgery preparation, including full nursing assessment and medical history with medication reconciliation.
• Evaluating and initiating appropriate care plans based on established standards,
• Providing patient and family education to support surgical recovery and engagement in the care process,
• Regularly assessing and documenting patient progress and responses to interventions in recovery of both phase 1 and phase 2,
• Timely communication of adverse or sudden changes in patient condition,
• Effectively managing patient pain and recognizing and reporting adverse drug reactions,
• Delivery of care of patients with recurring infusions that access ports, picc line care, and reoccurring medication administration, blood transfusions and wound care on an outpatient basis,
• Providing direct and independent patient care in PACU when taking PACU call
• Coordinating care activities with other members of the healthcare team,
• Ensuring accurate and efficient execution of physicians' orders,
• Safely and effectively utilizing patient care equipment,
• Performs other duties as assigned,
• Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries,
• Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization.
