Are you an experienced Interventional Radiologist interested in a flexible locum tenens opportunity in the vibrant Bay Area? This position near San Francisco, CA, offers the chance to work in a general acute care hospital, providing crucial imaging and interventional services.

On-Call Requirements : Yes, though call-backs are infrequent

Required Skills & Certifications

Licensing : Active California Medical License required

Board Status : Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiology

Additional Certifications : BLS, CA Fluoroscopy, and DEA license

Preferred Experience : Clean malpractice history is highly preferred

Role Responsibilities

Provide coverage for interventional radiology needs and stroke-related imaging.

Primary Procedures : Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, chest tubes, suprapubic catheters, CT / US-guided biopsies, and lumbar punctures.

Imaging Duties : Stroke CTs, ICU, and ED imaging studies. Daily studies include CT, X-ray, ultrasound, and MRI.

Daily Volume

Studies per Day : Approximately 50 studies, including :

CTs : 15-20

X-rays : 15-20

Ultrasounds : 10

MRIs : 5

IR Procedures : 5-8

Support and Tools

Support Staff : Diagnostic imaging nurses and radiology techs on-site

EMR System : Cerner

Credentialing Requirements

Documentation Needed : Updated CV, provider's NPI or license number, availability, and malpractice history.
