Position Overview :
\nJoin Atrium Health Navicent as an Interventional Radiology Technician and play a vital role in delivering high-quality, diagnostic and interventional imaging services. You will operate advanced angiographic equipment, assist in complex procedures, monitor patient safety, and ensure accurate imaging and documentation. Key Responsibilities :
\n \n
Operate angiographic and digital imaging equipment to perform diagnostic procedures such as biopsies, thoracentesis, abscess drainages, vascular stenting, catheter placements, thrombolytic therapy, and embolizations.\nAssist as a scrub technician during interventional and surgical procedures, working closely with physicians and residents.\nMonitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to any life-threatening changes, including performing CPR and defibrillation when necessary.\nIdentify, process, and ensure the quality of diagnostic images, assisting in equipment evaluation and maintenance to ensure optimal image integrity.\nAccurately interpret physician requisitions and orders to ensure correct procedures are performed.\nPost-process and label images with patient details such as name, MRU number, and scan location, maintaining meticulous documentation standards.\nEnter patient and procedural data into the radiology information system and ensure billing codes reflect the services provided for precise charge capturing.\nPerform patient positioning, transportation, and basic lifting tasks using proper ergonomic techniques.\nDemonstrate proficiency in caring for patients across all age groups, recognizing age-specific needs and delivering appropriate care accordingly.\n\n\n
Qualifications & Certifications :
\n \n
Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required : \n \nRadiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin \nRegistered Technologist (RT) registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) \nBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)\nAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (must be obtained within 6 months of hire unless deemed unnecessary by department leadership)\n\n\n
Education Required : \n \nCompletion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program providing advanced training beyond high school.\n\n\nExperience Required : \n \nNo prior experience necessary, ideal for entry-level candidates eager to grow their expertise.\n\n\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities :
\n \n
Proficiency in basic radiologic positioning and techniques.\n
Strong understanding of radiation safety and aseptic procedures.\nKnowledge of vascular and cerebral anatomy is preferred.\nExcellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients, and team members.\nAbility to work independently, multitask, and prioritize effectively.\nIntermediate computer skills to navigate imaging and hospital information systems.\n\n\n
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions :
\n \n
Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach overhead, and twist frequently during shifts.\nLift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist, 20 lbs overhead, and carry up to 40 lbs over reasonable distances.\nPush and pull with up to 30 lbs of force, and perform sliding transfers of up to 150 lbs with assistance.\nExposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids—appropriate PPE will be provided.\nMust have clear speech, vision, and hearing to operate equipment and communicate effectively.\n\n\n
