Elementary Program Lead
Assist with the planning and coordination of the Elementary age after-school program.
Plan and lead 1-2 enrichment activities each week for a group of 8-10 youth
Facilitate daily academic and homework time
Provide active supervision and ensure safety of program participants at all times.
Collaborate and cooperate with Youth Programs Manager and other program staff
Attend mandatory staff meetings and mandatory training
Assist with opening and closing procedures each day including room set-up, clean up, and transitions
At least 1 year experience working with elementary aged children in the areas of academic tutoring and mentoring.
Ability to be flexible and work together as part of a fast paced academic support team.
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of and experience with : problem solving; behavior management; and conflict de-escalation / resolution.
Mature attitude, creative, resourceful, and a positive role model for youth.
Demonstrates cultural competence
At least 21 years of age with a clean driving record and the ability to drive a 15-passenger van for field trips preferred.
Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.
Monday 12 pm-6 pm, Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday 2pm - 6 pm, and Friday 2 pm -5 : 30pm (this schedule is subject to change).
Additional hours available for community events and days-off programming.
