We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner is responsible for providing services in a manner that demonstrates respect for the patient’s dignity and meets the needs of the sexual assault victim by providing immediate, compassionate and comprehensive evaluation.Perform and document sexual assault medical forensic interviews / exams accurately and timelyPerform a complete medical forensic evaluation to include : Head-to-toe medical assessment for trauma, detailed genital / anal examinationForensic specimen collection and supportive documentationPhoto documentation of bodily and genital-anal injuries with competent documentationAssess for mandatory reporting status and report when appropriateMaintain chain of custody and adhere to evidence guidelinesEnsure patient / medical record confidentiality at all times (HIPPA)Maintain professional standards that do not create conflict of interests with employment or patient careAdminister prophylactic medications and emergency contraception based on physicians’ ordersCoordinate referrals for appropriate follow-up care as neededRespond to subpoenas for exams performed and testify as fact witness as requestedWhat qualifications you will need : Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date(RN) Registered Nurse must be obtained within 7 days of employment start dateAssociate Degree must be obtained within 7 days of employment start dateMinimum of one year acute nursing experience required.Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners Training within 180 days of hire.Cache Valley Hospital is a growing community hospital within a growing community of Cache Valley.
