Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching and service, some variation by academic unit

Major / Essential Functions :

Provides hospital-based urologic care and consultation in an academic medical center with level 1 trauma center designation

Provides pediatric urologic care in an academic outpatient clinic

Participates in teaching activities, including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching, and rounds for medical students and / or residents, and continuing medical education

Advances clinical knowledge through scholarly and research efforts

Performs a wide variety of urologic surgical procedures

Provides on-call coverage, as scheduled

Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations

Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications :

Board certification in urology by the American Board of Urology

Board certification in pediatric urology by the American Board of Urology

Strong work ethic and good team player

Experience in teaching medical students and residents

Experience in conducting research and publishing scientific reports

Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

Required Qualifications :

M.D. / D.O.

Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in urology

Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship training in pediatric urology

Texas Medical License or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
