Veterinarian, Director of Veterinary Services

Summary :

The Animal Recovery Center (ARC) and Canine Annex for Recovery and Enrichment (CARE) are committed facilities focused on the recovery and rehabilitation of animals rescued from cruelty and neglect. Our dedicated team collaborates closely with ASPCA divisions to provide high-quality, holistic care.

The Director of Veterinary Services for ARC is responsible for delivering compassionate veterinary care to at-risk animals while supervising daily operations to streamline animal flow. This leadership role requires accountability, urgent action in providing care, and alignment with Fear Free practices.

This role manages 1-2 Licensed Veterinary Technicians and operates on a schedule of Sunday-Wednesday, 9am-7pm (flexibility on Sundays is possible).

Responsibilities :

• Medical Case Management (60%) :

Provide individualized medical care for a diverse range of animals ensuring their overall health and psychological well-being.

Supervise daily care and medical case flow for all animals at ARC.

Support collaboration with departments such as Humane Law Enforcement and the Adoption Center.

Additional Information :

This full-time, exempt position is based in our 92nd Street office with some required flexibility for hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
