RN-ICU / PCU- Scottsbluff, NE

Location : Scottsbluff, NE 69361

Project Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 3x12 (days & night)

Job Summary

The ICU Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring, life-support, and complex interventions. The RN collaborates with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, safe, and compassionate patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and continuous nursing care to critically ill or injured patients.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and laboratory data.
  • Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products per physician orders.
  • Operate and troubleshoot ICU equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations such as cardiac arrests and code blues.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and recovery processes.
  • Maintain infection control and safety protocols according to hospital policy and standards of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and staff development programs.

Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable.
  • Licensure : Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska.
  • Certifications :
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience : Minimum 1–2 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred.
