POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) serves as a strategic partner to our CFO and COO in Scottsdale, our hybrid CEO, and our President in Canada; while also acting as a trusted advisor to the broader senior leadership team across the U.S. This role leads all aspects of budgeting, forecast modeling, business intelligence, and investment & operational efficiency analysis for Cogir's U.S. operations.

You'll oversee a high-performing team of Financial Analysts and play a central role in transforming how we use data to drive operational performance and long-term value creation. From board-level insights to property-level partnerships, you'll be a critical voice in how we scale smart, grow profitably, and lead with discipline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Lead annual budgets alongside Budget Director, long-range plans, and quarterly forecasts that align with operational goals and business drivers.
  • Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior executives and our ownership partners.
  • Develop robust KPI dashboards and performance management tools to drive results and accountability.
  • Operational Support

  • Partner with SVPs, Regional VPOs, and Executive Directors to analyze property-level financial performance and improve outcomes.
  • Design and deploy business intelligence tools that uncover efficiencies and highlight key trends.
  • Serve as a cross-functional connector between Finance, Operations, Development, and Investments.
  • Transactional Execution

  • Lead financial modeling and due diligence for acquisitions, developments, and dispositions.
  • Support market opportunity analysis and investment committee deliverables in partnership with the Development and Strategy teams.
  • Team Leadership

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Financial Analysts.
  • Create a culture of accountability, growth, and business-minded decision support.
  • Lead recruiting, onboarding, and capacity planning for the FP&A team.
  • Requirements

    CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

    Education :

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is required.
  • An MBA is required.
  • CFA is a plus.
  • Experience :

  • At least eight to ten (8-10) years of progressive experience in FP&A and asset management, or investment analysis, with direct people leadership.
  • A senior housing, Hospitality, Multifamily, or Commercial Real Estate industry background is preferred, with experience working with an Owner / Developer of senior housing, multifamily, or mixed-use projects.
  • Proven success in fast-paced, data-driven environments requiring both strategic vision and hands-on execution.
  • Competencies and Skills :

  • Exceptional financial modeling and Excel skills; advanced knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, scenario planning, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced experience with analytical visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, and others.
  • Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to translate data into narrative and drive alignment.
  • High emotional intelligence, business acumen, and the ability to influence at all levels.
