CMS ATHLETICS
The Joint CMS Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation Program is comprised of student-athletes from Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, and Scripps Colleges and offers a comprehensive program of regular physical education, intramural, recreational, club and varsity sports. CMS varsity teams compete in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), as a member of NCAA Division III. The Program is comprised of 21 varsity sports (10 men’s, 11 women’s) and supports a student population of over 3, and a student-athlete population of approximately .
BASIC FUNCTION
The Manager of Athletic Communications will strategically promote CMS Athletics teams, student-athletes, and coaches in a balanced manner to the local and national media, fans, parents, alumni, recruits, and the community by creating and directing athletic department video content, including live streaming, videography, social media content, and special projects, while training and managing a staff of student workers.
The successful candidate will be creative, organized, detail-oriented, innovative, and have experience working under pressure, while balancing multiple projects and deadlines. Candidates should have excellent writing, public relations, marketing, and games management skills (statistics, etc.), and a background in supervising a small team.

Reporting directly to the Director of Athletic Communications, the Athletic Communications Manager will be responsible for the following :
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION : Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred. Preferred degrees : communication, sports management or administration, public relations, or marketing.
EXPERIENCE : A minimum of 3 years of collegiate athletic communications experience is required.
