Job description

Welding Technology Instructor

2025-2026 School year; 186 contract days 100% FTE

Location : Mandan High School

Salary : Starting $54650 for Bachelors degree; starting $56172 for Masters degree. Full benefit package included.

Position Summary :

Provides instruction in the selected areas of Welding Education to ensure that students demonstrate appropriate mastery of standards gain knowledge and skills essential to the industry and are prepared for related career and post-secondary opportunities. Instruction on how to use welding technology techniques practices and safety. Additional focus on how to use tools machinery and material properly. Knowledge of project-based instruction of welding concepts.

Essential Functions :

Employees are required to be in attendance and prepared to begin work at their assigned work location on the specified days and hours. Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following :

  • Assists with preparing student for CTSO competitions and Skills USA.
  • Advising student club or CTSO for local & national competitions.

Reports to :

  • MPS / Heart River CTE Director
  • Qualifications :

  • Must hold appropriate license from the ND Education Standards and Practices Board OR :
  • Individual must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years (8000 hours) of progressive work experience in the occupation being taught within the past 8 years.
  • Credit for up to 2 years (4000 hours) will be given to those completing an approved specializedpostsecondary training program within the past 5 years.
  • Successful passage of an approved competency examination may be substituted for 1 year (2000 hours) of work experience.
  • Applicant must have or be eligible for North Dakota teaching license or must have or be eligible to be certified by the Department of Career and Technical Education in the area for Technology and Engineering Education. CTE certification must be achieved within two years. Alternative licensure is possible.
  • Position is open until filled.
