We currently have an opening for a Material Handler / Clerk for Industrial Physics in our New Albany Indiana location.

JOB SUMMARY :

Our materials team is seeking Material Handler / Inventory Clerk to receive, ship, pick, kit, and cycle count inventory in accordance with established standards and processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Shipping , receiving, material handling, inventory cycle counts.
  • Ensure that any defects found during the receiving or picking process are identified and segregated.
  • Ability to Cross train on multiple areas for materials. Receiving, Shipping, Work Orders, Kitting etc.
  • Work with team members to collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives relating to materials.
  • Ensure that all equipment used are maintained in accordance with company protocols
  • Perform additional duties beyond the scope of work upon request.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  • Must be organized and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Show knowledge of standard shipping / receiving and inventory functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and ERP systems, freight systems, receive, pick and issue parts for production.
  • Be a team player, ready and willing to assist others.
  • Participate in LEAN activities to improve efficiency and standard work practices. Knowledge of Kanban systems is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand receiving, shipping and work order paperwork,
  • Participate in problem-solving and improvement teams.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. at a time.
  • Must be flexible and available for overtime where necessary.

    TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :

  • High School or High School equivalent diploma required.
  • A minimum of 3-years prior manufacturing work experience
