Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgical Associates, S.C. (CTVSA), located in the Chicago metro area, is seeking a board eligible new graduate or an experienced board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our well-established practice. We operate one of the busiest cardiac surgical practices in the state, servicing 10 sites that include a university medical center as well as multiple teaching hospitals. With more than fifty years of service to our communities, we have established a loyal and expansive referral base. CTVSA currently employs 17 surgeons, 15 physician assistants, 4 surgical techs, and 13 APNs. Our group has an active Heart Transplant program, VAD programs at three sites, as well as TVT programs at numerous sites.

A new surgeon to our group will :

• Be proficient in all areas of adult cardiac surgery and perform cardiac surgeries at the hospitals we serve. Experience in structural heart and / or surgical therapies for advanced heart failure a plus.
• Take call, divided by geographic region, and respond to emergencies quickly
• Oversee and manage the care of preop and postop patients in the cardiothoracic intensive care units as well as the step-down units
• Provide leadership of assisting personnel, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, and bedside nursing
• Maintain a focus on continually developing skills while striving to provide the highest quality of care to all patients
