The Graduate Respiratory Therapist is a member of the health care team who has completed a CoArc approved Registered RespiratoryTherapy program. The Graduate Respiratory Therapist may be in this position for up to 180 days. The Graduate Respiratory Therapist may perform care in all areas of the hospital. This care is to include medicated and non-medicated therapy, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, application and titration of oxygen therapy, pulmonary diagnostic testing and arterial blood gas performance and analysis. The Graduate Respiratory Therapist assesses the patient to assist in formulation of a respiratory care plan. The Graduate Respiratory Therapist will respond to emergent clinical needs throughout the facility.

Provides care as appropriate to age of population served.Proficient in safely providing all routine and emergent respiratory modalities.Able to assess patients and provide patient care per protocol.Provide accurate and appropriate electronic documentation.Provide accurate and appropriate education to patients, students and new staff.Possesses assessment and critical thinking skills.Possesses in depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology.Adheres to infection prevention practices and facility safety policies and procedures.Licensure / Certification / Registration
