Overview

Project Management is an essential function in the Enterprise Change department at Texas Capital Bank. The ideal candidate has strong soft skills and can easily navigate complex projects and programs to deliver under pressure whilst fostering relationships with their team and internal stakeholders.

This individual will be organized, curious, focused on the ‘why’ and client experience. They will possess the ability to balance speed of delivery, navigate around risks and have a strong working knowledge of project management best practices. In their career they will have developed an understanding of how to integrate organizational change management, training, and communication practices for smooth, well adopted change. This person will become an advocate of the business and help lead the technical team in line with business vision. This position will be working within the Infrastructure and Platform Data team delivering large complex projects and programs using the best fit of both waterfall and agile.

Responsibilities

Manage cross-functional projects across multiple business units. Apply a consultative approach to assist with functional, technical, and operational, planning and design for the implementation of new systems and / or product enhancements.

Comprehend overall project scope, dependencies and how individual project deliverables align to them.

Define project success criteria and disseminate to involved parties throughout project life cycle.

Lead and direct the work of others in a matrix, cross-organizational project team.

Execute best practice project management capabilities aligning to TCB PMO methodology and standards.

Effectively communicate project updates to all levels of organization in a manner appropriate to the targeted audience, from individual contributor team member to C-Suite executive.

Effectively facilitate cross-functional, technical, and business process discussions in a productive manner while not necessarily being the Subject Matter Expert on the topic at hand.

Prepare executive-level materials and present to executives, vendors, and customers.

Manage and build relationships with key decision makers from project inception to post-deployment whilst simultaneously ensuring sponsor and end-user satisfaction

Balance delivering results with fostering a collaborative approach while problem solving in a group setting with the project team.

Foster a healthy team environment and proactively identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.

Create detailed execution plans and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate project portfolio management software, proactively identifying, and managing project dependencies and critical path across multiple work streams.

Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and work with other department managers to obtain commitments on assignments.

Anticipate and respond to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

Work closely with Program and Portfolio level leadership, keeping tight lines of communication open and listening to direction when course correction is needed

Qualifications

10+ years’ hands-on project management experience leading complex program / projects is required. This includes project planning, project controls / monitoring, budget management, setting and managing customer expectations utilizing waterfall, iterative and Agile practices, and methods.

Experience across many different types of projects and ranges of scope and complexity – must understand both technical, infrastructure and process reengineering based projects

Experience understanding the Technology / Infrastructure requirements, ability to understand Technology discussions and detect / identify any possible Risks / Issues is required.

Proven ability to lead multiple project teams and projects simultaneously

Excellent communication skills presenting Project Status, Risks / Issues, Mitigation Plans to Executive Stakeholders.

3+ years banking / financial sector experience is highly preferred – focus on Consumer / Retail Banking, or Sales Enablement and Marketing is ideal

High degree of Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project as well as other MS Office applications for reports, analysis, and presentations is required.

Familiar with project portfolio management software and / or agile delivery tools such as Azure DevOps

Consulting background is a plus

PMP certification is a plus

Ideally would have experience in leading projects requiring organizational change that utilized industry-leading Organizational Change Management principles.

Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence and establish positive working relationships across all levels of throughout the organization

Detail-oriented with a proven history as a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills to effectively respond to shifting priorities, demands and timelines

Experience in mentoring other personnel in aspects of the profession such as leadership, methodology, tools, people skills and navigating politics

Demonstrated track record of consistently fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, continuous improvement, customer service and project delivery excellence characterized by professional respect for every level of project team, selfless dedication to the success of project teams, and leadership behavior that encourages others to go above and beyond.
