About the Role
In this role at R-Zero, you’ll report into the CEO’s and advise on all financial matters, combining hands-on operational execution with strategic insight. This is a high-impact role where you'll build and scale our financial operations, drive strategic decision-making, and position R-Zero for continued growth. You'll lead a small but growing finance team and own everything from financial planning and analysis to investor relations and operational finance.
Role Responsibilities
Strategic Finance
Partner with the CEO on strategic planning and business development initiatives
Develop financial models and unit economics analysis to guide product and go-to-market decisions
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
Provide financial insights that drive key business decisions across the organization
Financial Operations
Own financial reporting, accounting operations, and month-end / year-end close processes
Build and optimize financial systems, processes, and controls as we scale
Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and capital allocation
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Board & Investor Relations
Manage investor reporting and board-level financial communications
Build relationships with investors, lenders, and strategic financial partners
Support fundraising efforts with financial modeling, due diligence, and investor materials
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Hire and scale the team as business needs evolve
Work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Sales, and other teams
About You
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
15+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in leadership roles
Startup experience, ideally from Series A through Series C+ stages
Deep expertise in financial modeling, FP&A, operational and strategic finance
Proven ability to build financial infrastructure and scale operations
Executive presence and ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly
Data-driven communicator with the ability to influence at board level.
Preferred : MBA or CPA
Preferred : Background in companies with physical products or hardware / software combinations
Compensation Information
The salary range for this position will vary based on candidate level, experience, and location. The base salary for this position contemplates a range of $200,000 - $270,000. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States and a background check is required upon employment.

Working Environment For employees in the San Francisco Bay Area
Work is at the Company’s work location in San Francisco, in an office setting and is performed during the Company’s core business hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The noise level in the office is usually moderate. You will be required to bring your R-Zero provided lap top and sit at the provided office workstations. Sitting for prolonged periods of time is required as are the additional physical requirements listed below.
