Arco is seeking a qualified Interior Designer to join our team. We are a design + build firm specializing in luxury residential homes in the Greater Boston area. Reporting to the Lead Designer, the Interior Designer is responsible for ensuring flawless execution of Arco’s interior design projects, involving on-site supervision, material management, subcontractor coordination, cost estimation, and contributing to the design of custom cabinetry and other interior architectural elements. Specific Tasks and Duties

Oversee the onsite implementation of interior design plans, ensuring that all craftsmen and installers strictly adhere to the look book of specifications and design intent. Conduct regular site inspections to review workmanship, materials, and adherence to design specifications, addressing any discrepancies or issues promptly. Collaborate with the design team to review and understand all project specifications. Ensure these are accurately communicated to and followed by the onsite team. Manage the inventory of all finish materials, including tracking orders, receiving shipments, and verifying that all materials meet the specified requirements. Maintain accurate records of all materials onsite. Oversee the receiving process for all finish materials, ensuring that items are checked for quality and accuracy upon arrival and stored correctly to prevent damage. Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, installers, and other trades to ensure that all work is completed on time and in the correct sequence. Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate project needs and timelines. Assist in researching and sourcing alternative materials, fixtures, and finishes that meet project requirements and budget constraints. Present options to the design team for approval. Assist in estimating the costs of materials, labor, and other project components. Provide detailed cost analyses and comparisons to ensure that projects remain within budget. Evaluate and compare estimates from various craftsmen and subcontractors. Assess the quality of workmanship and materials offered, and recommend the best options in terms of value, quality, and budget alignment. Manage the final phase of construction, ensuring that all interior finishes, fixtures, and accessories are installed to the highest standard. Collaborate with the design team in creating custom cabinetry, millwork, and other interior architectural elements. Ensure these designs are practical, functional, and aesthetically aligned with the overall project vision. Utilize Buildertrend, Procore, or similar project management software to manage project timelines, track progress, and ensure that all aspects of the project are on schedule and within budget. Review and interpret architectural plans to ensure accurate implementation onsite. Address any discrepancies between plans and onsite conditions. Work with Gantt tables to manage scheduling and resource allocation, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Maintain detailed records of onsite activities, including daily logs, progress reports, inventory records, cost estimates, and any changes to the project scope. Report regularly to the project manager and design team. Serve as a point of contact onsite for clients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have and ensuring their satisfaction with the project’s progress and outcome. Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or related field. Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite). Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in interior design, with a strong emphasis on onsite supervision, project management, inventory control, cost estimation, and architectural design. Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, construction methods, and cost estimation techniques. Experience in designing cabinetry, millwork, and other interior architectural elements. Proficiency in Buildertrend, Procore, or similar project management software. Working knowledge of Gantt charts for scheduling and resource management. Experience with reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications. Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus. NCIDQ certification or LEED accreditation is a plus.
