Position Summary The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting during night shift operations. The therapist performs assessments, manages ventilators, administers respiratory therapies, and responds to emergent patient needs. This role requires proficiency in all aspects of respiratory care and the flexibility to work non-block schedules. Travelers must rotate every other weekend and every other holiday. Key Responsibilities Conduct respiratory assessments and deliver ordered respiratory treatments. Manage mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, and advanced airway equipment. Respond promptly to rapid response and code emergencies. Monitor patient progress and communicate significant changes to the care team. Document all treatments, assessments, and interventions accurately. Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the healthcare team to support high-quality patient care. Qualifications (Legally Required) Current and valid Illinois RCP license . Current BLS (AHA) certification. Minimum 2 years of recent acute care respiratory therapy experience . Strong ventilator and emergency-response competency required. Shift Details Night shift travel assignment. Must work every other weekend and every other holiday . Scheduling flexibility required ; no block scheduling allowed .
